Hello, we had the opportunity to learn more about your project during the class. One of the main things we discussed was about the need to be more SPECIFIC. Firstly, please note that the poster could work better as a “unity” (rather than a series of tiles in a larger piece of paper) – therefore, it is better to keep text in a folder of your computer, and spend your energy illustrating only the ESSENTIAL information on the poster. Your text on the top left seems a little bit generic, so it would be useful to explain it in your own words (or better still, in images).
In the class you mentioned that the most important aspect that you would like to focus on is the desertification of this area. This begs the question, whether every tile that you have currently included in the poster is necessary. For example, I would argue that the “map of natural resources” (ie minerals) might not be really needed at this point. Instead, you should focus on the desertification process – how and why does that happen? This could be the focus of the entire poster, either as an axonometric or a plan. https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/sites/4/2020/06/SRCCL_SPM-19-11-2018.pdf
The other important thing is to be specific about the location. One of your plans says “site”, but what is the name of that location? You should aim to understand it closely and intimately. Why that location and not another. Your argument needs to be watertight and not seem that you are picking a location arbitrarily (I’m not saying that you are, but your posters need to show evidence of that specificity and rigorous research).
As you know, some students will come to present their work, so that you can get a better idea on how to work and improve your course output. Until March, we won’t be having 1-1 tutorials, so this feedback is very important to take onboard until then. If you have further questions about this feedback, please do not hesitate to get back in touch. P
